Actress Hema Named in FIR for Drugs by Karnataka Police

Hyderabad: Karnataka Police have filed a charge sheet against Telugu actress Hema and 87 others in connection with a rave party busted at a farmhouse near Bengaluru in May 2023. The 1,086-page charge sheet was submitted to the Bengaluru Rural Additional District Sessions Court.

The rave, themed "Sunset to Sunrise Victory," took place on May 20 and was attended by around 100 people, including tech professionals and Telugu actors. Police reports revealed that Hema tested positive for MDMA (commonly known as Ecstasy). Another actress, who tested negative for drugs, has been listed as a witness in the case.

The charge sheet includes 88 individuals, among them a Nigerian national, with nine people facing charges related to organising the event and supplying drugs. Those named include main organizer Vasu, along with Arun Kumar, Nagababu, Ranadheer Babu, and Mohammed Abubaker.

Additionally, 79 attendees, including actress Hema, face charges of drug consumption. Police seized various drugs from the venue, including 14.4 grams of MDMA pills, 1.16 grams of MDMA crystals, 6 grams of hydro-marijuana, and 5 grams of cocaine. Luxury vehicles, including a Volkswagen and a Land Rover, were also confiscated.

Authorities revealed that Vasu, from Hyderabad, organised the party under the pretense of a birthday celebration. All 103 attendees were drug-tested, and 79 tested positive for substances.

Actress Hema, arrested on June 3, was later released on bail. Despite her claims of being in Hyderabad at the time of the event, police continue to press charges against her.
