Akbaruddin Owaisi Defends College Amid Demolition Threats
Hyderabad: AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi on Monday strongly condemned threats to demolish the Fatima Owaisi College at Bandlaguda for allegedly encroaching on a lake area, and asked officials to shoot him but not destroy his college.
He claimed that the institution nurtured by him was providing free education to thousands of students. Akbaruddin Owaisi alleged that those behind the demolition plans were being jealous over the success of the institution.
The state BJP meanwhile stated that the real intention of HYDRAA could be fulfilled if it took action against Akbaruddin Owaisi's institutions which it said were encroaching on the Salkam Cheruvu, BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao's farmhouse and lake encroachments by other BRS and Congress leaders.
BJP floor leader Aleti Maheshwar Reddy asked HYDRAA chief A.V. Ranganath to demolish the illegal structures of Akbaruddin Owaisi in Salkam Cheruvu as well as hundreds of encroachments in lakes in the Old City. He offered to provide earthmoving equipment and listed out lake encroachments in Gurram Cheruvu in Barkas, Jalpally Pedda Cheruvu on the city outskirts and Oora Cheruvu in Rajendranagar.
