Hyderabad: The state government on Thursday appointed Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra Group as the Young India Skill University Board of Governance Chairman. He will be in this position for one year, said the order.

The university, a public-private partnership initiative, aims to provide world-class skill training to youths. In a recent session of the Legislative Assembly, the Chief Minister had hinted at appointing an internationally-recognised figure to helm the institution.
The Young India Skills University (YISU), a not-for-profit that will come up at Meerkhanpet in the Kandukur mandal of Ranga Reddy district, will offer degrees, diplomas, certificates, and custom-made courses tailored to the needs of the industry and community through a university school or multi-disciplinary courses from multiple schools.
