Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday announced that Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra will head the state government’s newly-established Young India Skill University.

The Chief Minister, who is on an official tour of the United States, expressed his happiness about Mahindra's appointment. He said the renowned industrialist had graciously accepted the offer to lead the university, and will take charge in the next few days.

The university, a public-private partnership initiative, aims to provide world-class skill training to youths. In a recent session of the Legislative Assembly, the Chief Minister had hinted at appointing an internationally-recognised figure to helm the institution.

Mahindra's involvement follows his meeting with Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad on August 2, where they discussed the vision and goals of the university. This collaboration is expected to enhance the quality of skill development programmes offered to youth currently and position Telangana as a leader in workforce training.
