Hyderabad: Kicking off his field review of Ganesh and Milad-Un-Nabi festival security arrangements, Hyderabad Commissioner of Police CV Anand visited the Central and South Zones and met the officers here on Tuesday.

After conducting puja at the towering Khairtabad Ganesh idol, Anand encouraged the committee members to follow what they did last year to finish all preparations by 6.30 am and start moving the 70-feet idol and complete the immersion procession in Hussainsagar by 1.30 pm.

This would enable the police to carry out speedy immersion of other idols. In response, the organisers promised to ensure it. He interacted with all the officers of law and order, traffic and security wing of the central zone about the nature of duties during the next few days and the final 40 hours on the immersion day on September 17.

Later he drove down to the South Zone DCP office where he met all the officers of law and order, Traffic, Task Force and Special Branch (SB). He discussed in detail about the upcoming Ganesh procession and the run up to it alongside the bandobust for Milad-Un-Nabi celebrations.

He reviewed the mistakes and lapses made the previous year, took suggestions from the officers and finalised the plan. He appreciated all the officers for their tremendous work and asked them to keep it up. He asked them to keep in mind the socio economic fabric of the old city while dealing with crowds and imposing timing.
