Anjaneya Reddy Appointed as Mentor of Buddhavanam Project

Hyderabad: The state government on Saturday appointed retired IPS officer C Anjaneya Reddy as the mentor of the Buddhavanam project in Nagarjunasagar. Renowned for his contributions to institution-building, Reddy’s appointment is seen as a strategic move to further develop the ambitious tourism project.

Anjaneya Reddy is widely regarded as a pivotal figure in the advancement of tourism and public institutions in undivided Andhra Pradesh. As head of the erstwhile AP Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC), he played a crucial role in the launch of Punnami Resorts and the tourism corporation buses. His efforts were also instrumental in promoting eco-tourism.

Reddy has served as head of the AP Study Circle, the AP Police Academy, and the vigilance and enforcement department where his leadership was widely acknowledged.

The state government’s order noted, "Keeping his vast experience in the field of tourism promotion, the state government is pleased to appoint C. Anjaneya Reddy as a mentor for further development of the Buddhavanam project, Nagarjunasagar."

The Buddhavanam project, a significant cultural and religious tourism initiative, aims to highlight the rich Buddhist heritage of the region. With Reddy’s guidance, the project is expected to see enhanced development and greater recognition as a major tourist destination.
