Order CBI probe into adulteration of Tirupati Laddu: Bandi Sanjay
HYDERABAD: Union minister of state for home Bandi Sanjay Kumar urged AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to order a CBI probe on a range of alleged misdeeds taking place in Tirumala. He said the CBI should probe not only the alleged adulteration of the Srivari Laddu by using ghee made with lard, tallow and fish oil but also the employment of non-Hindus in the temple board and propaganda by other religions in the holy town, as these developments have hurt the sentiments of crores of Hindus in the world.
The latest revelations by the current government led to suspicion of the involvement of politicians and officials in damaging the sanctity of the holy town, he said.
“Using animal fat in laddu prasadam is a highly offensive act and part of a large-scale sabotage planned against Hindu dharma. Besides Hindus, people from other religions revere Lord Venkateshwara as the God of Kaliyuga. The culprits behind the heinous crime must be brought to book,” he averred.
He also urged the AP government to take measures to maintain the sanctity of the temple and enact stringent laws to check entry of non-Hindus and atheists in TTD.
Senior BJP leader Dr Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy said the sentiments of crores of Hindus were hurt following the allegation of adulteration of Srivari Prasadam. Given the serious nature of the matter, the AP government must entrust the case to the CBI to book the culprits, he said.
