WARANGAL: Employees of the Kakatiya University (KU) and members of the All India University Employees Congregation (AIUEC) on Thursday staged a dharna demanding appointment of vice chancellors (VCs). The dharna was held in front of the School of District Learning and Continuing Education (SDLCE) in Hanamkonda on Thursday.

Vice-president of AIUEC Pulla Srinivas said without appointment of vice-chancellors in the universities, development and growth of universities cannot take place.

He urged the state government for immediate appointment of VCs along with implementation of PRC to the university employees. By revising the old pension system, the government must regularise all contract and outsourcing employees along with issuing health cards to all employees working in the universities, he demanded.

Members of the association M. Ravi, B. Mogili, N. Ramu, U. Prem Sagar, S. Balaji, M. Shyam, Vijay Rao, Mallikarjun, D. Ravi Kumar were present along with others.
