BGUS urges govt to ensure peaceful immersion of Ganesh idols
Hyderabad: The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi (BGUS) on Thursday urged the state government to make arrangements for a smooth conduct of the procession of Ganesh idols and their immersion on Tuesday.
Stating that over one lakh idols have been installed across the GHMC limits this year, samithi office-bearers said during a press conference here that the arrangements should be similar to the successful manner the mega event was held without any hindrances in the last two years. They said that the grand event is watched by people all over the world.
They said that it has been clearly established that there is no pollution due to immersion of Ganesh idols in Hussainsagar.
“We are also against pollution but these idols do not pollute the water. We request the government to provide cranes at NTR marg, Necklace road and baby ponds. We also want the idols to be removed without any obstructions,” said a senior BGUS member.
