Bhatti receives over 300 petitions at ‘meet the minister’ programme

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka received 328 petitions from people during the "meet the minister" programme at Gandhi Bhavan here on Thursday.

He issued on-the-spot directions to officials to resolve the issues and submit an action taken report at the earliest.

Bhatti stressed the significance of the ongoing caste census, describing it as a "historic decision" aimed at dismantling feudal structures and ensuring social equality. He criticised vested interests for spreading false propaganda against the census, stating, "Once the survey is completed, it will end exploitation by those who have looted the people till date."

Over 300 people attended the programme, highlighting various issues. Junior lecturer candidates awaiting postings, employees seeking filling up of vacant posts in transco and genco, pensions and housing schemes issues dominated the petitions. Assuring swift action, Bhatti issued written orders to the officials to expedite redressals.
He also extended personal support to individuals in need. A young man seeking financial aid for his mother’s cancer treatment received immediate assistance, with Bhatti instructing his staff to facilitate the hospital bill payments. Similarly, he intervened in resolving a high electricity bill issue for a small business owner and directed zoo park officials to clear pending diet bills .

Bhatti outlined major initiatives undertaken by the Congress government, including launching Young India integrated residential schools, entrepreneurship among women and providing affordable cooking gas at ₹500 per cylinder and free electricity up to 200 units, among several others.


deputy CM also detailed efforts to uplift neglected sectors, upgrading 65 ITIs into advanced training centres, and collaborating with self-help groups to generate 1,000 MW of solar power.

"Our government is laying the foundation for an equal society by focusing on education, health, and empowering the underprivileged," Bhatti said.
