Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday slammed the BRS for boycotting the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting in the Assembly and alleged that the BRS MLAs have no respect for the Speaker.

In spite of repeated appeals to them not to raise placards in the Assembly, the Opposition members did not relent, he said, adding that it was the Congress government that cleared the pending bills in a phased manner. The discoms bills, which were pending in the last 10 years during the BRS regime, were also cleared apart from increasing the diet charges, he said.

Bhatti and BRS MLA T Harish Rao, who was also present in the House, traded charges against each other over securing loans. Bhatti alleged that the previous BRS government secured loans without any limits imposing additional burden on the exchequer.

He, however, clarified that the Congress government would secure loans with the permissible limits of Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management Act.
