Hyderabad: Union minister and BJP state president G. Kishan Reddy on Wednesday blamed the Congress government for not caring for areas like Amberpet and Musheerabad and give a lot of importance to high-tech areas in Hyderabad.

He made these remarks after kick-starting works for laying drainage pipelines and concrete roads in Musheerabad division. MP Dr K. Laxman and MLA Muta Gopal also participated in the programme.

“The state and the Centre should work in tandem to provide facilities in Hyderabad city. Even as the maximum income is earned from here, citizens are not getting proper amenities. The CM should take the initiative and increase allocations for the development of the city. Roads are in a hapless condition and there is a dire need to modernize the drainage system because of which people suffer. These woes should be addressed forthwith,” he said.

Exhorting people to participate enthusiastically in the hoisting of the National Flag on August 15, he enjoined them to take part in the ‘Har ghar tiranga’ programme. The central minister who hoisted the flag on his house in Nampally called on people to participate in good numbers.

He reminded that 25 crore Indians had the Tricolour flying on their houses on the 75 anniversary of independence and the onus to continue the spirit is on all of us. This should be continued until the occasion is celebrated on Thursday. “NGOs, student organizations should participate with enthusiasm and motivate people,” he said.
