Hyderabad: The BJP demanded a comprehensive probe into the rape and murder of a six-year old child in a rice mill at Katnapalli in Sultanabad mandal of Peddapalli district on June 13. The party also demanded a compensation of Rs 20 lakh and government job for a member of the victim’s family.

Speaking to newsmen, party MLA Dr. Palvai Harish Babu said that breakdown of law and order and free availability of narcotics had led to the ghastly crime. The accused, hailing from Bihar, was under the influence of cannabis.

The victim’s family from a remote village had migrated to the town in search of work as the condition in villages was pathetic.

Harish Babu blamed Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for the rise in availability of narcotics even in remote areas of the state, which was also because there was no full-time home minister.
