Hyderabad:The BJP will observe 24-hour long deeksha to achieve the promises made by the Congress to the farming community in the state before the Assembly polls, at Indira Park from 11 am on September 30. Elected members of the party and senior leaders will take part.

BJP Legislature Party leader A. Maheshwar Reddy told the media that the Congress had cheated farmers and, nine months after coming to power, had not honored its poll promises including the Six Guarantees and many other declarations. The Six Guarantees had not been given legal sanctity as promised, and government had not allowed the subject to be discussed in the Assembly.

He said the government had not completed the loan waiver process as claimed, and had defaulted its promise on hiking Rythu Bharosa assistance to Rs 15,000 for each farmer. Financial assistance of Rs 12,000 to farm workers and Rs 500 additional assistance on MSP on paddy were in the long list of promises forgotten by the Congress, he said.
