Hyderabad: BRS MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy on Tuesday appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) here in connection with the money laundering case registered for the alleged illegal mining.

Reddy evaded replies to questions posed by the media persons when he came out of the ED office here. When asked whether ED officials recorded his statement, he did not responded and left the office in his car. Reddy appeared before the ED in response to a notice issued to him in connection with the case.

A few days ago, the ED conducted searches on the premises of Reddy and his brother Gudem Madhusudan Reddy as part of an alleged illegal mining linked money laundering case. About seven to eight places, including the premises of a quarrying company linked to Madhusudan Reddy, were searched.

The ED has taken up the case based on a FIR issued by Telangana police into alleged illegal mining. Madhusudan Reddy was arrested by the police in March as part of the investigation.
