Warangal: BRS leaders, led by former government chief whip Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar staged a protest at Kaloji Junction in Hanamkonda on Friday demanding the state government withdraw its decision to remove the Kakatiya Kala Thoranam from the state emblem. Speaking on the occasion, Vinay Bhaskar said that the Kakatiya rulers were known for their good governance. They had always worked for the benefit of the people and tried to resolve their problems. They had taken up several programmes keeping in view people’s needs. The Kakatiya kings had provided all kinds of infrastructure facilities as they had constructed temples, tanks and towns,” Vinay Bhaskar said. "It’s said that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had remarked that Kakatiya Kala Thoranam was a symbol of monarchy. In fact, the Kakatiya Kala Thoranam is a symbol of good governance,” he added. Pointing out the CM, Vinay Bhaskar alleged that the person who had never participated in the separate Telangana movement and who did not know the value of people's sacrifices was trying to remove the Telangana and Orugallu history by taking such bad decisions. He questioned the Warangal district Congress elected representatives and ministers Konda Surekha and Seethakka for their silence on the issue. “Why these ministers and other Congress-elected representatives from the district are not opposing the decision when the state government is trying to remove Kakatiya Kala Thoranam and trying to kill history,” he questioned. “If the Congress government removes the Thoranam from the state emblem, then the credit for killing the 800-year-old history of Kakatiya rulers goes to Congress. They will face severe consequences in the days to come,” he warned. “The BRS is not going to tolerate if the Congress government tries to destroy the history of the great Kakatiyas. BRS will take up massive agitations and will not allow the Congress leaders to roam in the villages and they must be ready to face protests in every programme until the government takes back its decision to remove Kakatiya Kala Thoranam from the state emblem,” he warned.
