Hyderabad: Btech Student from Nellore Caught Red-handed Selling Drugs

Hyderabad: A B.Tech graduate from Nellore, who had come to Hyderabad to learn software skills, was arrested by the Excise Special Task Force (STF) police for drug possession and dealing. The student, identified as Kattamanchi John, was caught with 7 grams of MDMA while allegedly attempting to sell the drug near Sushma Theatre in the Kranti Hills Colony.
Excise STF officers, acting on a tip-off, conducted inspections near Vanasthalipuram’s SVR Garden and Kranti Hills Colony. Officers spotted a suspicious person near Sushma Theatre, who was later identified as John. Upon inspection, authorities seized 7 grams of MDMA, along with John’s motorcycle and cellphone.
According to Excise Superintendent and STF Team Leader Nandyala Anji Reddy, the investigation revealed that John had procured MDMA for Rs. 2,500 per gram and was attempting to sell it for Rs. 5,000 per gram.
