Case booked against Jangoan CI, SI and others for assaulting advocate couple
Hyderabad: The Jangoan police booked a case against the police station Circle Inspector (CI) Raghupathi, Sub-Inspector (SI) Tirupathi and others for assaulting an advocate couple G Amrutha Rao and Kavitha in the police station for requesting to register a case based on a complaint lodged by their client.
In her complaint, Kavitha, a resident of Jangaon, filed a representation before the Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Zone, Jangaon, in which she alleged that on August 5, she along with her husband and their client Kemidi Sathamma went to Jangoan police station and urged the Circle Inspector to register a case on the petition submitted by their client.
The Circle Inspector came out from his chamber saying “Meeru Advocates Ithey Yentra” and abused them in filthy language. An SI Thirupathi and constables beat her and her husband by holding her hands and neck. They also caught her husband’s collar and warned not to move from the place and took their phones.
The police station staff threatened the couple abusing “Meeru Nyayavadulythey Meerem Pikutharra”. The complainant requested to take necessary legal action against the CI, SI and their staff who threatened them in the public and beat them, and humiliated touching her hands and body, ignoring that she was a woman lawyer.
As per directions of superior officers, the police booked a case against the CI, SI and others under provisions of 115(2), 126(2), 351(2) and 79 read with 3(5) BNS and took up investigation, according to SI Nakkala Chennakeshavulu, who is the police station incharge officer.
