Karimnagar: Backward class welfare minister Ponnam Prabhakar emphasised that the benefits of the family survey should not be doubted, as it will be instrumental in designing welfare schemes for people of various castes. He made these remarks in Husnabad town, Karimnagar district, on Sunday.

The comprehensive survey, he said, will serve as a diagnostic tool, like an X-ray, to identify social issues. He urged representatives from all political parties and officials to participate in this historic programme and assist in gathering data by raising public awareness.

Later, the minister attended the closing ceremony of the 68th Under-14 Boys’ and Girls’ State-Level Handball Tournament at the indoor stadium and presented awards to the winning teams.

Ponnam Prabhakar said that the government, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, values sports and is committed to providing essential facilities for athletes. Inspired by his visit to Seoul University, the Chief Minister decided to establish the Young India Sports University. He encouraged young people from Husnabad to seek admission to this university and bring pride to the state and country.

The minister also promised to initiate steps to build dressing rooms, toilets, a swimming pool, and a shuttle court at the indoor stadium.

Municipal chairperson A. Rajitha, vice-chairman I. Anitha, libraries department chairman K. Lingamurthy, single window chairman Shivaiah, and other officials were present at the event.
