Chargesheet to Be Filed in Neredmet Gang-Rape of Minor
Hyderabad: Neredmet police are likely to file a chargesheet in the gang rape case registered with them in June this year, as the DNA reports did not tally with any of the 12 accused in the case.
The case was registered with Neredmet police following a complaint lodged with the Kacheguda police by the victim’s mother after she learnt that her minor daughter was pregnant. The case was transferred to Neredmet police station through zero FIR.
Investigations revealed that 10 youths were involved in the heinous crime and they were all apprehended.
Meanwhile, the victim’s mother approached the Telangana High Court seeking permission to medically terminate her daughter’s pregnancy. The abortion was performed when the victim was seven months pregnant.
Police collected DNA samples from the foetus. The samples were sent to the Telangana Forensic Science Lab for tests.
According to a police source, “When the DNA report did not tally with any of the 10 accused, we tried to get further information from the victim. She revealed two new names, friends of the accused.”
DNA samples of the two were also collected and sent for examination. As per the report received on Thursday, their DNA did not match with the foetus, added the source.
Meanwhile, a chargesheet will be filed with the available evidence. Any additional findings will be incorporated in the chargesheet, the source said.
