Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday met the Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan here.

Revanth Reddy’s meeting with the Governor assumed significance amid rumours that a cabinet expansion is expecte to be carried out soon. During his recent visit to New Delhi, Revanth Reddy met the former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, MP Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders.

He also met several Union Ministers requesting them to address pending issues related to Telangana. While interacting with media persons, Revanth Reddy said there was, presently, no cabinet berth vacancy and all the Ministers were working effectively.

Another reason for meeting the Governor was to discuss the forthcoming Telangana Assembly session. He reportedly discussed the Bills to be introduced in the Assembly after commencement of the session in addition to pending MLCs seats in Governor quota.

One more reason was government assets distribution between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh as per Andhra Pradesh State Reorganization Act. The issue has been pending with the Centre since formation of separate Telangana in 2014. Though the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) earlier conducted a series of meetings with the Chief Secretaries of the two Telugu States, the issue is yet to be resolved.
