Warangal: During the Praja Palana Vijayotsavalu, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is scheduled to announce the launch of 22 Mahila Shakti Canteens. Of them, 10 are located in the tri-cities of Hanamkonda, Warangal, and Kazipet under the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) limits.

The Chief Minister is set to inaugurate at least four Mahila Shakti Canteens during his visit to Warangal on Tuesday, November 19.

Currently, three canteens have been inaugurated and are operational at the Collectorate Complex, Government Maternity Hospital, and Kakatiya University Engineering College in Hanamkonda. Additionally, construction of three more canteens at the Municipal Circle Office in Kazipet, in front of the GWMC main office, and at Enumamula Agriculture Market Yard in Warangal has been completed and they are ready for inauguration.

Works are in progress for the Mahila Shakti Canteens at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) and Chanda Kanthaiah Memorial (CKM) hospitals, as well as at Kashibugga Municipal Circle. Officials are also planning to establish a canteen at Kakatiya Medical College, having submitted proposals to the government.

The initiative will create employment for approximately 150 women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs). Each canteen will directly employ five women, with an additional 100 women benefiting indirectly from the 10 Shakti Canteens across Hanamkonda, Warangal, and Kazipet. The canteens will offer affordable food items and other materials prepared by SHG members, aiming to provide quality services to the community while empowering women economically.
