Nalgonda: Nalgonda collector C. Narayana Reddy on Friday made it clear that there was no question of compromising on the issue of custom milling and rice millers must complete the target of yasangi and kharif crop seasons by September 30.
Speaking at a meeting with rice millers, he said rice millers should act responsibly in delivering custom milled rice to the state government. He also underlined the need for coordination between the officials and rice millers to complete the target. He cautioned that zero tolerance would be maintained on misuse of rice of custom milling.
He said rice millers should supply rice to the state government as per paddy supplied to them for custom milling. He asked the rice millers not to bring bad reputation to the district by indulging in irregularities in custom milling rice.
Rice millers requested the collector for extension of deadline by another 15 days and decrease the fine rice milling to 60 per cent from 67 per cent now. Fine rice and non-fine rice should be separately purchased at the paddy procurement level, he suggested.
