Hyderabad:In a sensational twist that can adversely impact many bureaucrats, one Bheerla Mallesh from Maheshwaram mandal in Rangareddy district on Friday lodged a complaint with the Enforcement Directorate alleging that at least 31 IPS officers, including SIB former chief and snooping case accused T. Prabhakar Rao and former chief secretary Somesh Kumar had illegally purchased his mother Jangamma's ‘lavani patta’ land worth `50 crore.

Reportedly, one Suresh Mudiraj, who had obtained pattadar passbooks on these lands, sold them to the families of IPS officers, including Prabhakar Rao, Mahendra Reddy, Ravi Gupta, Swati Lakra and others.

In his complaint, Mallesh alleged that the fraud appeared to have been orchestrated by a nexus comprising senior government officials, including from the IAS and IPS, high-ranking revenue officers, and the local Maheshwaram police. These individuals are deeply involved in this activity and have compromising the rightful ownership and integrity of land records, he alleged.

Details of the bureaucrats and the lands they possess (16 guntas unless specified) include Ravi Gupta; Mudireddv Nitesh Reddy, son of former DGP M. Mahender Reddy (20 guntas); Thatiparthi Pavani Rao and T. Prabhakar Rao; Dr Gyan Mudra, wife of Somesh Kumar (20 guntas); Nyalahonda Sindhu Reddy, whose father is Nyalakonda Prakash Reddy (20 guntas); Soumya Mishra; Rahul Busi Reddy, son of retired IAS officer Janardhan Reddy; Vennavelli Radhika; and Tarun Joshi, among others.

The complainant said that his mother Bheerla Jangamma was the rightful and absolute owner of land under Survey No. 180 in Nagireddypalli village, Maheshwaram mandal. She was granted this land under a ‘lavani patta’ issued by the government.

However, Suresh Mudiraj obtained a pattadar passbook for the same land. Mudiraj claimed that he had purchased these lands from Mohammed Abdul Lateef, Arshiya Sultana, and Mohammed Abdul Javeed and this resulted in the consolidation of 26 acres and 30 guntas under Khata No. 60441 in Suresh Mudiraj's name. Later, he sold these lands to individual IPS and IAS officers.

On being contacted, Kamalasan Reddy said that they had purchased the land from Mudiraj after proper verification of link documents. A number of IPS and IAS officers had purchased land only after obtaining permission from the government.

“Suddenly, a person comes into the picture claiming ownership of the land and started extorting money from Mudiraj. There was no violation in purchasing these lands, which they did legally,” it was stated.

It was reported that these officers had planned to construct villas by giving contracts to builders. When they were initiating the construction process, Mallesh emerged from nowhere claiming ownership of those very land parcels.
