HYDERABAD: Union minister for coal and mines G. Kishan Reddy on Thursday attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for inflicting harm on women MPs and other fellow members in Parliament.
In a statement, Kishan Reddy said that having been exposed for betraying Baba Saheb Ambedkar, the Congress is resorting to violence as a means of disrupting house proceedings. Terming it as utterly disgraceful, Kishan Reddy charged that the Congress had always insulted the chief architect of the Constitution.
BJP MP M. Raghunandan Rao charged that the Congress had been resorting to cheap politics after being exposed how they have insulted Dr Ambedkar. “When NDA MPs including myself were staging protests in a peaceful manner in front of a gate in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi along with a few of his supporters rushed towards women members and in the melee, a senior BJP and former Union minister Pratap Sarangi fell down and sustained serious injuries,” he said.
Raghunandan said that the Congress had managed to give Bharat Ratna to their three generation leaders including Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, but ignored the architect of Indian Constitution, who served the nation in many ways.
Congress leaders have betrayed Ambedkar and defeated him in two Lok Sabha elections, denying his direct entry. The Congress is trying to claim as heir of Ambedkar, but the nation would never forget how they cheated him. On the other hand, the BJP government developed all the places associated with him as 'Pancha Teertha', he said.
