Congress blocking Warangal super specialty hospital works: Harish
Warangal:Former minister and BRS leader T. Harish Rao on Monday claimed that the Congress government was deliberately stalling work, prevention the construction of the multi-super specialty hospital meant to transform Warangal into a health hub for north Telangana.
He claimed that 84 per cent of the project was completed under the BRS government of Chandrashekar Rao.
Harish Rao defended the hospital’s 24-storey design, explaining that 14 floors were for medical services and the rest were for labs, libraries, and other facilities. He contrasted Congress’ criticism of the Warangal hospital while praising a similar project Jaipur in Rajasthan, built by then Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
Harish Rao said that the Congress was similarly delaying work on the proposed four multi-super speciality hospitals on the four corners of Hyderabad. Most of the works of all these hospitals were complete, with only the final phase pending, he said.
Warning that the BRS would launch a protest if work was blocked on the projects, Harish Rao urged Congress to complete the Warangal hospital quickly. He also supported Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) employees at a dharna camp, criticising Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for unmet promises and alleged biased law enforcement.
On the arrest of film actor Allu Arjun for the stampede at a theatre, it had spared the Chief Minister’s brother Tirupati Reddy who, Harish Rao claimed, was responsible for a suicide of a former sarpanch. “Why was action not taken against Tirupati Reddy,” Harish Rao asked. He asked for responsibility to be pinned and action take for the death of 54 hostel students and the chaining of farmers of Lagcharla.
