Hyderabad: The Telangana BJP charged that the Congress high command was insulting Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy by creating hurdles for him and not allowing him to perform his duties as per his constitutional obligations. The Congress high command had not been allowing Reddy to expand his cabinet nor to implement the poll promises, he said.

Addressing a press conference, Telangana BJP vice-president N.V.S.S. Prabhakar said, “Even after including poll promises in the election manifesto, the Congress central leadership is not allowing him to fulfill poll promises”.

Stating that it was dubious Congress culture to insult Chief Ministers from the party, he said that Revanth Reddy was no exception. The repeated visits to Delhi had been preventing Reddy from going about his duties. “It would be better for Revanth to set up a camp office in Delhi to please the high command,” Prabhakar said.

“Though Revanth Reddy enjoys the constitutional right to form and expand his Cabinet as per his choice, the Congress high command is denying him the privilege,” the BJP leader said.

Charging that Congress in-charge Deepa Das Munshi had been acting as an extra-constitutional authority, Prabhakar claimed that Reddy was left embarrassed when Sonia Gandhi skipped the Formation Day celebrations despite assuring him of her presence.

Meanwhile, Prabhakar expressed doubts over the possibility of Revanth Reddy meeting his AP counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu on July 6. The BJP welcomed the meeting to resolve pending issues between the two states, he said.
