HYDERABAD: Three Congress MLAs on Friday lashed out at BRS leaders K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao for their remarks against the Congress government's crop loan waiver scheme and free bus travel initiative for women.

Addressing separate press conferences here, they accused the two BRS leaders of spreading misinformation and trying to undermine the positive steps taken by the Congress government.

Mahbubnagar MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy charged that while BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao had disconnected himself from the people, Rama Rao and Harish Rao were getting frustrated as their influence was on the wane.

"Frustrated that their failures were coming to the fore, they are making such baseless remarks," he stated. He condemned Rama Rao’s comments on women and accused him of disrespecting Telangana's cultural values.

Reddy said that Harish Rao had siphoned large amounts from major projects when he was the irrigation minister.

Devarakadra legislator G. Madhusudan Reddy defended the Congress government's initiatives, particularly the crop loan waiver. He praised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for standing by the farmers and fulfilling his promise of loan waiver.

Maktal MLA Chittem Parnika Reddy condemned Rama Rao’s ‘disrespectful’ remarks against women and demanded an apology from him.

"His derogatory comments against women travelling in RTC buses are unacceptable. He should immediately apologise to the women of Telangana," she asserted.
