The Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, ministers, MLAs, MPs, and other Congress leaders participated in a massive rally from Indira Gandhi statue at Necklace Road to Raj Bhavan as part of the AICC's protest call against the alleged Adani and Narendra Modi's irregularities.
A few metres away from the Raj Bhavan, police stopped the rally in which the Chief Minister was participating by barricading the Raj Bhavan stretch.
Addressing the gathering, Revanth Reddy said that Modi supports Adani even though the businessman made mistakes by offering bribes. The US authorities found the irregularities and served notices, the Prime Minister deliberately extended his support to Adani to protect his business activities.
"In Parliament, the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi initiated a protest against the Adani and Modi nexus. As part of the AICC call to protest at Raj Bhavan, the Congress leaders, ministers and I participated. The BRS asked why the Congress staged a protest being in government in the state? I asked the BRS to clarify their stance on the Adani issue. The BRS and the BJP-led NDA government at Centre are the two sides of the same coin. The BRS supports the BJP to avoid arrests," the Chief Minister said.
Revanth Reddy also blamed Adani and Modi who he said have tarnished the reputation of India by indulging in bribery. The Prime Minister must consider calling for a JPC probe into Adani's alleged irregularities, he said.
Even though Rahul Gandhi protested in the Lok Sabha, Modi maintained silence and did not make any statement on the issue. To create awareness among the people, the Congress staged a protest to lay siege to the Raj Bhavan," the Chief Minister said.
Revanth Reddy also said that if the BRS MLAs demand, the Congress would pass a resolution in the ongoing Assembly session demanding the BJP government at the Centre to form a JPC to probe into Adani issues.
