Khammam: Agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao reaffirmed the state government's commitment to provide quality education, which he said is essential for preparing students to compete in the global environment.

Speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the Young India Integrated Residential Schools complex at Jinkala Thanda in Raghunathapalem mandal, the minister emphasised the crucial role that education and healthcare play in the progress of society. He criticised previous governments for neglecting government-run educational institutions, which, he said, left students unable to compete with their peers in corporate schools.

Rao stated that the Congress government would develop the curriculum of the integrated residential schools to meet international standards, ensuring students are well-prepared for the competitive world.

He announced that between Rs 300 crore and Rs 350 crore would be allocated for the construction of each integrated residential school complex. On the same day, foundation stones were laid for 28 such complexes at selected locations across the state.
