Cops Changed my Version: Madduri
Hyderabad: Tech firm owner Vijay Madduri, who reportedly tested positive for cocaine during a raid at a party hosted by Raj Pakala, brother-in-law of K.T. Rama Rao, on Tuesday approached the Telangana High Court claiming that the police had fabricated his statements in relation to the FIR filed by the Mokila police on October 27.
He complained that the police had falsely recorded that he was offered a banned drug by Raj Pakala, and provided the narcotic upon his acceptance. Madduri told the court that he had not stated as such in his statement.
He complained that the police had taken custody of his US passport and were not returning it. He said that the police had intimated the US Consulate at Hyderabad that he had been involved in a crime. He claimed that the case was the outcome of political vendetta.
The petition was filed by way of lunch motion for urgent hearing. Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy heard the case and directed the police to follow due process. The court also directed the police to allow Madduri’s advocate to accompany him during the inquiry.
