Warangal: In a budding twist straight out of a crime novel, police in Warangal cut short a man’s plans for a rather “high” harvest after growing ganja plants right on his rooftop in Shiva Nagar on Thursday.
Officers seized two healthy ganja saplings from his terrace garden.
According to Anti-Drugs team inspector J. Suresh, the accused has been identified as Palleboina Kumar (60), who allegedly began growing ganja to earn easy money.
After receiving credible information that drugs were being transported illegally through the Warangal railway station, police officials and the anti-drug team and a sniffer dog, searched the station.
During the operation, the sniffer dog led the team to the top of a nearby building in Shiva Nagar, where they found two ganja saplings growing in pots on the terrace. A case has been registered against the accused, and the police have begun an investigation.
