Hyderabad: The counting for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda graduates' by-election is underway. A total of 2,800 staff have been roped in for the purpose. The polling for the election was held on May 27. Teenmar Mallanna, also known as Chinthapandu Naveen, from Congress, Rakesh Reddy from BRS, and Gujjula Premendar Reddy from BJP are in the fray.

The by-election was necessitated after the incumbent MLC, Palla Rajeswar Reddy, was elected to the Telangana Assembly from the Janagoan constituency.

The ballot boxes were opened by the counting staff at 8 am in the presence of contesting candidates and their counting agents. The postal ballots were mixed with general ballot papers. About 25 were being making as a bundle.

Counting of ballot votes would taken up with 96 tables in three halls after completion of bundling of ballot papers.

Total 3,36,013 polled votes would be taken up for the counting.

Bundling of the ballot papers was expected to complete by afternoon.
