WARANGAL: Communist Party of India (CPM) state leaders met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday, requesting title deeds for houses built by the poor on government land in survey no. 255, Mahbubabad district. They also sought approval for Indiramma housing for the residents.

The leaders highlighted that 150 acres of survey no. 225 land were allocated to poor farmers during the Congress government's tenure, while the remaining 70 acres were illegally encroached by former BRS MLA Banoth Shankar Naik and associates for real estate ventures.
Under CPM leadership, some poor families built huts on survey no. 255 land and have lived there for two years despite repeated evictions and attacks allegedly supported by Naik. They claimed political influence led to cases against 200 individuals, with 20, including 10 women, jailed.
The leaders accused revenue officials of forcing the poor to vacate under BRS influence, despite a peaceful situation since the Congress government took power. They urged the CM to intervene and support the families with title deeds and housing.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy responded positively to the representation.
