Deputy CM assures all help to deceased farmer’s kin
Khammam: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday said the state government would extend help to the family of Bojandla Prabhakar, a farmer who had died by suicide over a land issue.
Bhatti visited the house of Prabhakar at Proddutur of Chinthakani mandal and consoled his family members.
The Deputy CM noted that the land fell under the full tank level (FTL) of a local irrigation tank. “The death of a farmer is painful. No one should commit suicide whatever may be the problem,” Bhatti said.
Bhatti said police have been instructed to conduct an in-depth inquiry to find persons who abetted Prabhakar’s suicide. He made it clear that stringent action would be taken against those who would be found responsible.
Replying to a question on alleged role of his followers, Bhatti said everyone in the village was his follower. “There was no need for politics in the issue,” he said.
The Deputy CM said collector Muzammil Khan has been instructed to do justice to Prabhakar’s family. The collector would discuss the matter with the fishermen society, officials of the irrigation and the revenue departments. He also assured Prabhakar’s family that the state government would take care of the education of the children of the farmer.
