Hyderabad: Gachibowli police registered a case against a doctor for inappropriately touching the wife of an IPS officer at a pub in Madinaguda in the Financial District. The incident, which was reported on September 20, came into light on Monday.
The IPS officer had gone to the washroom at the time of the incident. When he returned, his wife complained to him that a man who was at an adjacent table had misbehaved with her, sources disclosed.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, the police officer said, “Initially I ignored it assuming that he might have accidentally touched my wife. But my wife insisted and I checked with the CCTV footage and saw the man misbehaving with my wife. I called the Gachibowli police.”

However the doctor maintained before the police that he was drunk and accidentally touched the victim, police sources disclosed. The police put the doctor through a breathalyser test, which confirmed that he was in a drunken state.
Police reportedly made the doctor sit in the police station till he sobered up the following day.
After going through the CCTV cameras in the pub and recording the manager’s statement, which they took as a complaint against the doctor, the police released him.
