Hyderabad: Dr K.A. Paul, president of Praja Shanti Party, approached the Telangana High Court seeking a direction to disqualify all 10 BRS MLAs who had defected to the Congress, withdraw their privileges and prevent their participation in Assembly proceedings.

The High Court Registry held the petition at the scrutiny stage and on Friday placed it before the Chief Justice Bench. Dr Paul, as party in person, argued before the division bench of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice J. Sreenivas Rao and requested the court to admit his case as a PIL.

After him briefly, the Chief Justice Bench observed that three writ petitions, seeking a direction to the Assembly Speaker were pending before Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy for pronouncement of orders and asked how could the court entertain another petition on the same issue. The court directed him to file a separate affidavit, with all details.
