Hyderabad: A female snake charmer in an inebriated condition reportedly threw a snake at a bus driver after he refused to stop the bus near NCC Grounds in Vidyanagar, Nallakunta police said on Thursday.

The accused, G. Tyagamma, stood in the middle of the road and tried to stop the bus that was heading towards Dilsukhnagar. When the driver did not stop, she threw a stone that broke the rear glass of the bus, forcing the driver to halt the vehicle.

Bus conductor P. Swapna got down to inquire with Tyagamma.

Tyagamma, however, abused the conductor and other passengers, took out a snake from her bag and threw it at the driver, who fled the scene. The 15 also disembarked and moved away.

Based on a complaint lodged by conductor Swapna, the police detained Tyagamma, a resident of Joharnagar. She had three more snakes in her bag, which were handed over to the forest department.

The police registered a case against Tyagamma for cruelty towards animals, damaging government property and creating nuisance.
