HYDERABAD: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday summoned Maheshwaram former revenue divisional officer (RDO) Venkata Chary as a part of an investigation into moneylaundering, which officials suspect to have taken place in the 42.2-acre land dispute at Nagaram.

According to sources, ED officials have summoned Chary for questioning on November 7. He is the third government officer to be summoned after former district collector Amoy Kumar, presently director of animal husbandry, and R.P. Jyoti, former mandal revenue officer of Maheshwaram.

After recording the statements of Amoy Kumar and Jyoti, the agency has intensified its moneylaundering probe and has identified high-profile officials, who will be questioned subsequently.

The sources disclosed that ED could question a former joint collector, a former chief commissioner for land administration (CCLA) and a former chief secretary. All of them will be treated as suspects and their names will be mentioned in the FIR only if the agency gets concrete evidence against them.
