Education News: TGSET 2024 certificate verification schedule announced

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Eligibility Test (TGSET) 2024 has announced the schedule for certificate verification. The process will take place at the Online Counselling Centre, PGRR Centre for Distance Education, Osmania University, Hyderabad, between November 30 and December 3.

The schedule spans 29 subjects, accommodating hundreds of qualified candidates across disciplines. Life sciences leads the tally with 298 candidates, followed by computer science with 183 and chemical sciences with 130. Verification sessions are divided into morning (9 am to 1 pm) and afternoon (2 pm to 5 pm) slots to ensure a smooth process.

Candidates shall present original certificates, including their TG-SET 2024 scorecard, proof of date of birth, postgraduate degree certificates and caste or EWS certificates, where applicable. Physically handicapped candidates are required to provide a SADAREM certificate. Additionally, two sets of self-attested photocopies of all documents are mandatory.

An exclusive verification session is being held for PwD candidates on December 3 at 1.30 pm. Further details are available on the official websites of Osmania University and Telangana SET.


Educational content writing workshop at Manuu

Hyderabad: A one-day workshop on Educational News Bulletin was organised at the Instructional Media Centre (IMC), Maulana Azad National Urdu University

(MANUU) on Wednesday. The workshop aimed to train participants in content writing and production techniques for educational news bulletins.

The workshop was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, who emphasised the importance of professional training in creating impactful educational content. Mujahid Ali, Producer-I at IMC, along with Dr Aslam

Parwez, Dr Mustafa Ali Sarwari, and Md Aamir Badr, were the resource persons. They shared their expertise in news writing, editing, and production. Dr Rizwan Ahmad, director, IMC, delivered the opening remarks and highlighted the growing need for quality educational journalism in the digital age.

The valedictory session was graced by registrar Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, who distributed certificates to the participants and appreciated their enthusiasm for learning new skills. The faculty and students were engaged in

hands-on sessions and discussions, making it a productive and enriching experience during the workshop.


Conference on Gandhian principles in journalism

Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), in collaboration with the Indian Society of Gandhian Studies (ISGS), will host a three-day national conference from January 27. The event will focus on the timeless principles of Mahatma Gandhi’s journalism, exploring their relevance in today’s rapidly evolving media landscape.

Prominent speakers will delve into Gandhi’s contribution to shaping public opinion, his critique of sensationalism in media, and his emphasis on the use of indigenous languages to connect with the masses.

Vice chancellor Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan will be the chief patron. Scholars and researchers from across India are invited to contribute their perspectives on Gandhian journalism. The conference seeks to foster dialogue and collaboration between academicians and activists, providing a platform to examine how Gandhi’s principles can guide the creation of an ethical and people-centered media environment in the digital age.
