Eight Arrested for Stealing Copper, Aluminum Wires in Bommala Ramaram

Bommala Ramaram police arrested eight persons for stealing aluminum and copper wires and recovered 200 kg copper cables and cash of Rs 2.7 lakh from them.

Hyderabad: Bommala Ramaram police arrested eight persons for stealing aluminum and copper wires and recovered 200 kg copper cables and cash of Rs 2.7 lakh from them.

According to Bhongir DCP Rajesh Chandra, the prime accused Bikram Kumar Singh led the group comprising Mahender Ram, Ramkumar Singh, Govind Mandal, Sharavan Mahto, Pradeep Kumar Mishra, Rajkumar Roy and Amith, all from Bihar and Jharkhand.

Police said the gang stole aluminium wires from electric poles and copper wires from transformers located in remote areas late at night. They took away the loot in a trolley auto owned by Ram Kumar Singh, and sold it to scrap shops in Jeedimetla.

Police said the group is linked to several thefts across the region, and investigations were ongoing.
