Electric Buses on Karimnagar-Hyderabad Route After Aug. 15

KARIMNAGAR: Telangana Government State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) will run 70 environment-friendly electric super luxury buses from Karimnagar to various locations, regional manager N. Sucharitha said in a statement released here on Monday.
She disclosed that RTC has signed an agreement with the JBM group, a private firm, on Gross Cost Contract (GCC) basis to run the electric buses from Karimnagar. In the first phase, they will run 33 buses on the Karimnagar-Hyderabad route.
In the second phase, they will operate the remaining 37 buses, six on the same Karimnagar-Hyderabad route, nine from Karimnagar to Godavarikhani, four from Karimnagar to Manthani, and six each from Karimnagar to Kamareddy, Karimnagar to Jagtial, and Karimnagar to Sircilla.
The RTC regional manager said necessary arrangements are being made for providing basic facilities to electric buses, like charging stations and transformers. The electric buses will start operating after August 15, she added.
