Entrepreneur from Hyderabad Wins UN iCONGO Award for Third Time

 Hyderabad: Rumana Sinha Sehgal, founder of Serendipity, was conferred with the REX Karmaveer Chakra Platinum medal instated by the United Nations and iCongo. She is the first woman entrepreneur from the state to receive the award for the third time.

She was awarded the gold medal in 2023, silver medal in 2019 and the global fellowships in 2023 and 2019. The award is to honour the work of individuals who work to “be the change” and/or walk off beat road (as innovators, entrepreneurs, filmmakers, free thinking crusaders etc.) or any field of work that inspires and brings in growth mind-set.

Sehgal is an artist, poet and humanitarian, entrepreneur and a mentor across organisations such as the Atal Innovation Mission of the Niti Aayog, the International Start-up Foundation, and Women in Tech-Global.

An engineer, with experience in IT, ITES, HR, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship sectors, she founded Serendipity in 2012 to help less privileged individuals to create art.
