WARANGAL: Enumerators in Warangal district faced lots of issues while carrying out their duties for the comprehensive family survey.

Officials formed enumerator teams comprising secondary grade teachers (SGTs), assistant education officers (AEOs), Anganwadi workers, junior assistants, panchayat secretaries and community resource persons (CRPs).

There are 2,63 lakh families in Warangal district out of whom 1.17 lakh live in urban areas while 1.45 lakh reside in rural areas. Houses were divided into 1,841 blocks and 150 to 175 houses were allotted to each team of enumerators. A total of 2,025 enumerators and 204 supervisors have been appointed for the district.

After completion of stickering till November 8 when the enumerators visited houses to collect details for 75 columns, they faced great difficulties with people not responding to them.

While some questioned them for asking details like the number of vehicles, some refused to share the details of aadhaar cards. Some were even indignant when asked about their bank and property details.

One of the enumerators speaking to Deccan Chronicle said there is no use of this survey since people are not giving complete details. They insist on us writing whatever information they give and some even do not allow us to enter their houses fearing the enumerators would scan the things present in their houses.

Another enumerator said it is being difficult to go door-to-door in the city, climbing stairs and getting down. Some release their dogs while some do not open their gates. They have no choices but keep most of the columns empty.

Meanwhile, district collector Satya Sharada informed deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka in a virtual meeting on the comprehensive family survey that the survey was going on with perfect planning by clearing all doubts people raise before enumerators.
