Farming, farmers top priority of state govt: Tummala

Yadadri-Bhongir: Minister for agriculture Tummala Nageshwar Rao on Sunday opined that development of villages and that of a state depended on the condition of farmers.
Attending the swearing in ceremony of agricultural market committee at Alair, he said the Congress government has accorded top priority on agriculture and welfare of farmers in the state. It has fulfilled its promise of crop loan waiver up to Rs 2 lakh.
The Congress government is trying to fulfil the aspirations of people of Telangana that they get funds, irrigation and jobs. He assured people to sanction a godown to agricultural market of Alair and asked its directors to work with dedication to serve the farmers.
Minister for roads and buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said agriculture sector got a lion’s share in the state budget which vouches for its priority to the state government. The Congress government has fulfilled all its promises of free travel to women in TGRTC buses and free power for domestic connections up to 200 units per month. The state government would soon come out with more initiatives for women’s empowerment, he added.
Bhongir MP Chama Kiran Kumar Reddy said the state government has given top priority on solving farmers’ issues. He asked Congress workers to publicise the schemes taken up by the state government for the welfare of farmers.
Earlier, a rally was taken out by the Congress workers in Alair welcoming the ministers. Government whip Bheerla Ilaiah, agriculture market committee chairman Mehender Reddy and others attended the programme.
