Warangal: The in-charge sub-registrar of Fort Warangal, Rajesh, was suspended on Saturday following allegations of illegal plot registrations.

Rajesh, who has been serving as a senior assistant at the Deputy Inspector General's office in Warangal, assumed the role of in-charge sub-registrar on April 23 after the current sub-registrar went on leave.

Officials found that Rajesh had registered plots in an illegal layout within the 44 division of Singaram.

According to regulations, nala permission is required for every plot when agricultural land is divided into plots. In this instance, permission was obtained for the entire agricultural land, which was then divided and registered as individual plots.

An investigation revealed discrepancies in the registration process. On May 18, 16 plots were registered, followed by an additional 10 plots on May 20, totaling 26 plots, District Registrar Harikotla said.
