Hyderabad: The department of plastic and reconstructive surgery at Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) will hold a screening camp till November 9 to assess various pediatric plastic surgery needs. The camp began on Friday. Selected children will receive free surgery on the occasion of Children’s Day.
The conditions that will be covered include cleft lip and craniofacial anomalies, congenital hand deformities and birth palsies (OBPI), post burn and post-trauma deformities, vascular anomalies, and any other deformities affecting children in the age group of 12-14 years.
Children from economically under-privileged families will be given priority. Parents and guardians whose children need treatment have to register at the plastic surgery outpatient department. Further treatment plans and management will be decided at the screening camp during the OP time, from 9 am to 2 pm.
