GHMC Chief Orders Weekly Food Safety Inspections
Hyderabad: GHMC commissioner Amrapali Kata directed the health commissioner on Wednesday to set weekly targets for food safety officers to conduct surprise inspections to control adulterated food products.
In a teleconference with additional commissioners and zonal commissioners, the GHMC commissioner emphasised the need for food safety to ensure the food sold by hotels, restaurants, and street vendors is free from adulteration.
She also suggested that the transfer process from junior assistant to the superintendent should continue as per the committee's decision following the rules and regulations since a committee has been formed for internal transfers.
Amrapali also instructed the zonal commissioners to complete any pending tasks, such as lining, zebra crossing line marking, and footpath repairs, by the end of August.
