HYDERABAD: The GHMC on Thursday directed builders employing more than 50 workers at construction sites to introduce crèche facilities so that their children do not face the risk of dog bites.

In a statement, the GHMC said it had observed during recent reviews that children of construction workers were particularly vulnerable to dog bites due to their parents’ absence during their work hours and the presence of food waste near their temporary shelters.

Additionally, the town planning staff were to inform builders and developers of previously approved projects about the need to include a crèche facility, the GHMC said.
