Golconda Bonalu: Tight Security Measures Planned, Focus on Women’s Safety

 Hyderabad: Ahead of Golconda Bonalu, city police commissioner Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy said strong security measures would be put in place for the festival, especially as women from remote villages are expected to attend the celebrations.

He was speaking at a coordination meeting with officials from various departments after inspecting arrangements at Golconda fort and its surroundings, along with officials.

The municipal department was instructed to deploy staff to manage waste accumulation. RTC drivers were instructed to park buses only at designated spaces..

Apart from CCTV cameras at strategic locations, in order to tackle pick-pockets and chain snatchers, special surveillance teams will be deployed, especially in places where the footfall would be high. Special SHE teams will address incidents of harassment of women.
